Herbaceous Plants

The herbs, the type of plant that most successful in colonizing the planet Earth. They have a very fast growth rate, practically all the seeds that fall to the ground germinate, and adapt to everything, being able to develop even in the small holes that sometimes exist in the asphalt or on the sidewalks.

But what exactly are herbaceous plants? Hpw are they differentiated from other plants?

DILL PLANT

Herbs are plants that do not have woody stems as do trees or shrubs; in fact, in most cases these stems are green, and can break easily. The leaves are also green, and may be narrow in the case of graminoids, or wide in the case of forbias.

The flowers are usually grouped in terminal inflorescences , either in the form of a spike, in clusters or in groups. These are pollinated by all kinds of pollinating insects: bees, wasps, ants, among others. Once the seeds have matured, the wind disperses them, taking them away from the mother plants.</ins>

Types of herbaceous plants

We find four types of herbs:

Annual : they are those that germinate, grow, bloom, fructify and finally die in just a few months. Examples: poppy, chamomile, dragon mouth, wild marigold or milk thistle.
Vivacious : the life cycle of these lasts several years. They wilt during the winter but they sprout again in spring from the rhizomes or bulbs that grow under the ground. Examples of vivacious: astilbe, peony, delphinium.
Perennial : they are those that can live many years, and do not wilt in winter provided that the conditions of climate and culture are appropriate. Examples: gazania, geranium, carnation.
Megaphorbias (Megaphorbiaie) : are called giant herbs. They have the same characteristics as common herbs, but reach a much larger size. Examples: banana trees (genus Musa, such as the Musa paradisiaca), or palm trees.

Herbaceous Plants The herbs, the type of plant that most successful in colonizing the planet Earth.
