Compost Plus

If you garden in containers you might not be aware or perhaps have forgotten that soil can become depleted of nutrients over time. I know I did until recently when I was cruising a local garden center in search of new products. That’s when I ran across Compost Plus from Vermont Compost Company. Compost Plus is a high nutrient blend of compost, organic and mineral amendments that “feeds the soil”, adding nutrients to soil that has been around for a while.

All of the ingredients in Compost Plus container booster mix are suitable for growing organically certified crops—including those edible flowers, herbs, strawberries, cranberries, and dwarf varieties of blueberries icon you’re growing in pots. It’s easy to use too. When transplanting or repotting your plants, simply add a cup or two to the flowerpot or container after first removing the soil. One 6 quart bag of Compost Plus container booster mix is enough to revitalize 96 quarts of soil!

Compost Plus container booster mix is available from Gardener's Supply Company in the 6 quart size. If you are an organic farmer or need larger quantities you can purchase it in bulk or 20 quart, and 60 quart bags directly from Vermont Compost Company.

P.S. Compost Plus shouldn’t be confused with another product called Compost Maker Plus, which turns leaf clippings and kitchen waste into humus.
