California garden makeover

Have you recently given your yard or garden a makeover like one of our readers from California did (pictured above)? Is your garden a masterpiece in Xeriscape design or water-saving techniques? If so, you might want to consider entering your garden in a garden contest! Many municipalities, garden clubs, and even water utilities sponsor garden contests with various themes from glorious and ugly, there’s a theme for everyone.

1. Glorious Gardens
Attention Chicagoland residents! Do have a flower garden to die for? Enter the Glorious Gardens Contest.

2. Ugly Gardens
If you live in the Guelph, Ontario, Canada area and think your garden is so ugly, it’s beautiful, you’re in luck. Enter the Ugly Garden Contest. P.S. There are many, many garden contests throughout Canada so check the local listings.

3. Best Food Gardens
UK gardeners can enter the Best Food Garden. Sponsored by the Telegraph. Again, there are numerous garden contests all over the UK. Check the local listings.

4. Xeriscape Gardens
It’s too late to enter the Tucson Annual Xeriscape Garden Contest (bookmark it for next year!), but it’s not too late to enter the 12th Annual Xeriscape Garden Contest sponsored by the Parker, CO Water & Sanitation District. Check a water utility company near you for similar contests.

5. Win a Garden Makeover!
If you’ve been thinking about a garden makeover, but haven’t taken any action yet enter the Preen Garden Makeover Sweepstakes and win $2,500 for a garden makeover. Sponsored by Preen, the makers of Preen Organic Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer.

Good Luck!
