Like many plants, the husk tomato, an edible plant native to the US, goes by more than one common name and in this case more than one botanical name as well.

Fiddlehead ferns, the newly unfurling fronds of the ostrich fern, are only edible while they are fiddleheads. Once they turn into proper fronds they’re history at least when it comes to being edible.
